So many Changes have been added to Acadia, so it shouldn’t be too wonderful if the 2024 GMC Acadia may not be the same as the present model. For many people, the Acadia is somewhat a strange manufacture from GM. And they do have the cause to think that way. The first gen that was launched in 2007, was coming as a full size crossover having three row preparation. Then about 10 years afterwards, the company initiated the Acadia as this midsize crossover, which is clearly smaller than the original product. Rumor has it that the next gen may carry the crossover go back to the original product. Which is the original size crossover.
The Upcoming GMC Acadia
Following to some sources, the company is somewhat arrangement the new Acadia to come with bigger model and size. The next gen Acadia is planning to release in 2023 as 2024 model. May be the plan is true, then the Acadia would have same size as the Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
When the company was planning to create the second gen Acadia (as the midsize crossover), they want to relocated the vehicle within the crossover segment, which was calculated the most accepted and the mainstream option. That’s why they had the politics to go after the midsize sector to rival against Grand Cherokee (from Jeep). However, it seems that the schedule was somewhat a failure. They didn’t get the wanted momentous results, and the sales for Acadia didn’t make better as expected. When find a simile for Grand Cherokee, the sales number for Acadia was depressing despite the fact that they combined two years of sales periods (expected to only one year sales of Grand Cherokee).
What’s New for Acadia GMC?
Spy photographers have looked at the 2024 GMC Acadia during the testing period. And if the model is the key for the future production, it seems that the report is true: GM is redesigned the crossover as this full size and bigger vehicle.
From the spy shots, it’s clear that the redesigned Acadia comes with longer and lengthened wheelbase (especially if you balance it from the present model). This means that the interior cabin would be so blank, Faithful for three row seating, plus an extra free space at the back. The prototype was heavily roofed, but it’s obvious that it’s bigger than previous and longer. It seems that new Acadia is awakened by the Yukon because the prototype comes with upgraded style and a slight boxier look. With bigger size and more free space, the Acadia would be a worthy opponent against Hyundai Palisade. From the new prototype, it’s clear that there would be dual evacuate with single outlet and new directive wheels from alloy.
Engine and Platform
The new Acadia is likely approaching with VSS-F stage which is a new platform that is extremely supple from GMC. They appearance it first with Buick Encore GX 2020 and 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer. It’s likely that all future vehicles (from GM) may be manufactured on this VSS-F architecture.
GMC Acadia Powertrain and Performance
Hopefully, the new Acadia would be launched with gas LGVX6 unit with 3.6 liter capacity that would be paired up with auto start/stop engine operation and also next level auto 9 speed transmission. It will also provide as front wheel driving system as the standard, and four wheels driving system for normal pick. It’s possible that they offer a more profitable unit, such as planning with inline-four turbocharged unit with 2.0 liter capacity.
The Acadia would be constructed at the (GM) Spring Hill gathering plant, located in Tennessee. It would be created together with Caddy XT6 and Caddy XT5 together. Hopefully, this industrial plant will still producing Acadia, when the 2024 model is released. You should know more about 2024 GMC Acadia once there are more will open about it.
